The Handicrafter: Putting the Art in Your Hands
This season, POW Gloves gave three different artists the opportunity to create and design a signature glove, ultimately resulting in the 2014 Handicrafter Glove and Mitt. A combined effort by artists David Sheets, Stefan Hoffman, and Quincy Quigg, each color option of the Handicrafter highlights a different and unique perspective. Combining the art with a waterproof Sotina® Nylon shell, a DWR coating, HIPORA® waterproof insert, 100G of 3M™ Thinsulate™ insulation, and over or under-cuff options, this style keeps your creative side close at hand while keeping you warm & dry, all day everyday.

“The inspiration for the glove just came from being in the mountains, billy goatin’ around. I wanted to design a pair of gloves that were two totally different entities, with different color schemes, and didn't match. On one hand you have the dark, evil, devil goat, and the other is the soft, elegant, angel goat. When you are about to drop a big cliff, or a tight chute, and you have the angel whispering in your ear, 'don't do it, you could get hurt.' then you got the devil whispering, 'do it! You know it will be rad.' To quote a Slayer song: 'there is no heaven, without a hell.'"
DAVID SHEETS
“I knew immediately that I had to create gloves inspired by shadow puppets. It all started with the wolf mouths on the fingers and grew into a living landscape. My favorite part of snowboarding is when you stop to catch your breath... my mind slips from the over-burst of fun to the openness of nature. Longing to blend into the wilderness just as the creatures that dwell there do.“
STEFAN HOFFMAN
“Being from the Northwest, I was inspired to bring some of the native design and wildlife to the drawing board on this glove design with POW. I am pretty hyped to get out into the snow and try them out.”
