If I had my way, we would dub this spot Area X rather than blow it out any further. In all reality, Cooke City, Montana is a pretty popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts like ourselves.
Sitting just outside of Yellowstone, Cooke City (also commonly known as Sledneck City, USA) is a small mountain village consisting of around 100 locals. It's placed right in the middle of the amazing Beartooth Mountain range, offering residents sweeping mountain vistas and unparalleled access to year round exploration. Most Cooke City neckers are oil rig dudes who like to rip around the mountains during their play time. Though this year's snowfall made things a bit trickier for the powder-hounds who reside here, the ability to sled from your front door keeps the locals true to their roots.
Other than an intoxicated night of yelling at the local Sheriff, Daryll, our trip consisted of three solid weeks of boarding and filming; this was a welcome vacation from our sparse winter conditions in Washington. Fortunately, the weatherman came through in the clutch and gave us a few windows of fresh, snowy conditions to take full advantage of. Relive the trip with us through the photos below!
